Caries is a multifactorial disease that is characterized by the destruction of the tissues of the tooth as a consequence of the demineralization caused by the acids generated by the bacterial plaque. Bacteria make that acid from the remains of diet foods that are left exposed.

The chemical destruction of teeth is associated with the intake of sugars and acids contained in beverages and food. Dental caries is also associated with errors in hygiene techniques as well as inadequate toothpastes, lack of dental brushing, or not knowing how to use the movements of the mouthwash, absence of dental floss, as well as a genetic etiology.

The influence of the pH of the saliva in relation to caries has also been verified.

The brands with which our clinic works are the highest-end, Straumann and TRI (Swiss) and Bego (German). These implants are integrated into the bone and serve to support artificial teeth created to measure according to the characteristics of the patient.

01 Composite Veneers

Composite veneers consist of applying a paste that adheres directly on the tooth and that is modeled to achieve the desired shape and color.

  • Carving of teeth is not usually necessary
  • Therefore they are reversible, if you do not like it we can remove them and return to the initial situation.
  • They are made in a single day.
  • Without anesthesia.
  • Can be retouched or modified quickly and easily

  • Composites tend to change color over time, forcing them to retouch and maintain them periodically.
  • To check the good condition of the restorations, an annual review is necessary.

02 Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers are porcelain sheets made in the laboratory that adhere to the external face of the tooth.

  • Porcelain does not change color in time. So, over the years the veneers will look just like the first day.
  • They are designed by computer and you can choose shape, size and color before going to the clinic.

  • On certain occasions, the tooth requires a preparation where you must polish a few microns to compensate the thickness of the porcelain.
  • Once placed, they cannot be retouched, so you must remove them and touch them out of your.

03 Whitening

Teeth whitening is a revolutionary aesthetic treatment that improves the color of teeth, achieving whiter and brighter teeth. It can be done on all teeth or on only one tooth that may be obscured.

Bleaching Techniques

  • Whitening in dental clinic: It consists in the application of the whitening product which we activate with a laser light. Among the bleaches used in the clinic there are several concentrations, which we use is 40% hydrogen peroxide, the most powerful in the market. In 2 sessions of 15 minutes we managed to download 2-6 tones.
  • Whitening at home: They are whitening products with a low concentration of hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide that can be applied at home by using a plastic splint. To achieve results, they must be applied every day for 40 – 60 minutes to achieve the desired result.
  • Mix whitening: It consists of combining whitening in the dental clinic with the home. Tailor-made splints are made for the patient that adapt perfectly to the shape of the teeth. The splints and Whitening Kit are delivered to the patient. In the clinic we will explain the pattern and the procedure to follow. We will check up the evolution with some control appointments.

  • The success of whitening will depend on each patient (habits, age, enamel porosity, color of their teeth …).
  • It is essential to clean the mouth before treatment in order to eliminate all external stains and ensure that the product has maximum efficiency.
  • In cases of severe staining such as tetracycline staining, if the effect of tooth whitening is not the desired one we will opt for other aesthetic techniques such as veneers.
  • The results of tooth whitening will depend on several factors. In the first place, it will depend on the patient and the genetics. Another important factor is food and habits.
  • For better results, a white diet (milk, rice, chicken, etc.) is recommended. At the clinic we will give you a complete and detailed list .
  • During treatment, an increase in tooth sensitivity may occur, which will depend on each patient. Patients who present dental sensitivity before or during the treatment will give them specific instructions and explain how to carry out the treatment.

01 Crown over Tooth

When a tooth is weak or damaged, to reinforce it in certain occasions crowns are placed. To place these crowns, we must prepare and carve the tooth, where it will be glued with a special cement.

02 Crown over Implant

On the implant will be attached a fixed or screwed crown that will be responsible for emulating the tooth. In some cases, it may be necessary to place a provisional acrylic crown before the final crown. This procedure does not damage neighboring teeth, achieving excellent esthetics and chewing function.

03 Dental Bridges

To replace one or several missing teeth, we can make a ceramic bridge (two or more crowns attached).

04 Removable partial prosthesis (denture)

On an acrylic o metallic structure stand are located the teeth that are joined by metal hooks to the adjacent teeth wearing them as they support the masticatory forces, are unsightly (since the metal clips are seen) and the support bone is losing little by little being necessary some relines.

05 Removable complete prosthesis (Complete denture)

They replace all the teeth of the maxilla or jaw. Acrylic teeth are placed on an acrylic or metallic support. Over time the adaptation of the prosthesis is lost as the bone is reabsorbed by the absence of teeth or implants and it is necessary to go to the dentist to reline them.

01 What is a root canal?

The endodontic therapy (or root canal) consists in the partial extirpation (pulpotomies in temporary teeth) or the total extirpation of the dental pulp (nerve).

It is applied in fractured dental pieces, with deep caries or injured in pulp tissue in which there is a characteristic symptomatology pulpitis.

02 Why “save” a tooth instead of extracting it?

Some consequences of tooth loss are:

  • Displacement and inclination of other teeth and their possible loss.
  • For milk teeth, possible loss of space for definitive diets.
  • Rigid jaws and relaxation problems.
  • Weakening of other teeth by having fewer teeth to eat.
  • Problems when speaking.
  • Avoid certain foods due to chewing problems.
  • Avoid going out in public because of shame.
  • Anxiety and shyness.
  • Feeding problems.

03 Is it a painful treatment?

No. It is done with previous application of local anesthesia

01 What is it?

Pediatric dentistry is the branch specialized in the oral health of children.

02 Which treatments are the most common?

The restorative treatment mainly consists of treating the traumatisms, using sealants, which consists of slightly filling the grooves and fissures of the teeth without hardly removing dental material to avoid possible decay, and in treating the caries produced and its consequences.

The main difference between regular dentistry and pediatric dentistry in the treatment of caries is the presence of temporary or milk teeth in children which makes the treatment is different.

03 Why do you have to treat a baby tooth?

Temporary (milk) teeth fulfill important functions besides aesthetics: they allow chewing, phonation and the correct development of the jaws where the permanent teeth will lodge.

In addition, the alterations in the temporary teeth can have consequences in the definitive ones.

It is also necessary to treat the teeth to prevent the pain that cavities can cause in the child.

If the milk tooth disappears for whatever reason (caries or trauma) before time, it is necessary to put some type of device that conserves the space, until the exit of the future permanent tooth.

01 What is periodontics?

Periodontics is responsible for the treatment of diseases and conditions that affect the tissues that support the teeth (gingiva, periodontal ligament, root cement and alveolar bone) and the implanted substitutes, for the maintenance of the health, function and aesthetics of the teeth. teeth and their adjacent tissues.
The main periodontal diseases that affect a dentition are periodontitis and gingivitis.
Nowadays with implantology, periodontics is also responsible for the prevention and treatment of peri-implant diseases such as peri-implantitis.
A periodontal treatment consists of the correction of the hygiene technique for the control of bacterial plaque, until the elimination of the factors that trigger it (dental calculus or calculus and periodontal pockets).
Periodontitis is a chronic disease, so in addition to its treatment, visits for maintenance will be crucial.

02 Is it a painful treatment?

No. It is done under local anesthesia.
